Key Responsibilities
Full Set of Accounts & General Ledger (GL)
- Handle full set of accounts (AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation).
- Prepare monthly closing of management accounts.
- Ensure accurate posting of plantation-related transactions.
- Maintain proper accounting records for estates, mills, and HQ operations.
Plantation Financial Management
- Record and monitor plantation operating costs (fertilizer, pesticides, labour, harvesting, transport, etc.).
- Track estate cost per hectare and per ton of FFB.
- Monitor income from FFB sales and other plantation products.
- Reconcile crop production reports with financial records.
- Coordinate with estate managers on monthly operational expenses.
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Process supplier invoices (fertilizer suppliers, contractors, transporters, etc.).
- Verify supporting documents (delivery orders, work completion, quotation, etc.).
- Prepare payment vouchers and payment schedules.
- Issue cheque, online payments, and ensure proper approvals.
- Maintain supplier accounts and ageing reports.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Issue invoices for FFB sales and other plantation income
- Follow up on customer payments and outstanding debts
- Prepare AR ageing reports
- Reconcile customer accounts
Cashbook, Bank & Payment Control
- Perform daily bank reconciliation.
- Maintain cashbook and petty cash records.
- Monitor company cash flow position.
- Ensure proper documentation for all OR (Official Receipt) and payments issued.
Plantation Stock & Cost Control
- Track movement of plantation-related inventory (fertilizer stock, diesel, tools, etc.).
- Assist in stock count and reconciliation.
- Monitor cost allocation to estates/projects.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare monthly management reports for plantation operations.
- Assist in budget preparation and cost forecasting.
- Support audit and tax submissions.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Assist in daily finance operations and filing system.
- Maintain proper document control (invoice, DO, PO, contract).
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks, and external parties.
Senior Accounts Executive Additional Responsibilities
(In addition to the above)
- Supervise and guide Accounts Executive(s) and junior staff.
- Review journal entries, payment vouchers, and reconciliations.
- Lead monthly and yearly closing process.
- Prepare consolidated plantation financial analysis reports.
- Support management in decision-making (cost reduction, profitability analysis).
- Improve accounting systems, workflow, and internal controls.
- Coordinate with plantation operations team for performance tracking (yield, cost per hectare, productivity).
- Assist in audit planning and resolution of audit findings.
Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA) is an advantage for Senior role.
- Executive: 2–4 years accounting experience (plantation or related industry preferred).
- Senior Executive: 4–7 years accounting experience, preferably plantation industry.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of full set accounts.
- Experience in plantation accounting preferred (FFB, estate costing, labour costing).
- Good Excel skills and accounting software (SQL, Auto count, SAP, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and under pressure.
- Good communication with operations team (estate managers, supervisors).
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
